Motherhood, the best job in the world! But just because you have little ones to take care of, doesn’t mean you should lose focus on yourself. You just have to get creative about finding the time to focus on you. Make sure to make time for mom!

Here are some tips to make sure you are taking care of YOU too!

  1. Make sure to get 10 minutes to yourself each day. Whether it’s an uninterrupted, private shower while your husband watches the baby or it’s sitting outside while the baby takes a nap (make sure to bring the baby monitor of course!) A little bit of alone time is key to help keep you relaxed.
  2. Pamper yourself while you cook. I know, this sounds crazy, but you can make and apply an all-natural oatmeal face mask in the time it takes to make breakfast, lunch, or dinner! Mix some oatmeal with honey and plain yogurt, apply to your face, and wipe off after 10-15 minutes. If you can’t go to the spa, bring the spa home to you! As women, we take pride in the way we look. And there’s no reason for that to change after we have kids.
  3. Schedule your workouts around the babies sleep schedule. Wake up a little earlier in the morning or go to bed a little later at night and do a low intensity workout like yoga or Pilates. You can even try to work out during nap time or feeding time! If you stopped working out after your babies were born, I know it’s difficult to find the time or energy to get back into a routine.  Even just getting in 10-15 minutes of physical activity in a day can help improve your mood, boost your energy, and help you get a better night’s sleep. Trust me, it’s worth it!

Don’t be too busy doing things for everyone else that you forget to do things for yourself. It’s okay if the house doesn’t get vacuumed every week or the laundry piles up, don’t be too hard on yourself! You can always catch up on the chores after you’ve given yourself a little TLC that you completely deserve!
